Anthony Philip James is a newly established legal practice that is responsible for generating legal claims against lenders, brokers and insurance underwriters, sighting an unfair relationship between them and the customer. The team of Paralegals will play a key role revisiting selected targets and identifying cases that meet the criteria specified in the recent changes to the law.
The objective is to ensure that the Banks are made accountable for the non-disclosure of commissions on loans and insurance policies and the customer receives adequate compensation.
The practice is Authorised and Regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. (SRA)

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
As a Legal Support Officer, you will join our successful and expanding firm in order to take on general administration duties within the Litigation or Investment Team. You will be required to undertake some client care work and support the fee-earners within this busy legal practice. This is an exciting opportunity for a well organised, target oriented person who may want to progress their career within a successful, expanding law firm.
Legal experience is essential together with good attention to detail, excellent time and organisational management and good IT skills. You will have experience of data input and collation of data using office management or case management systems
ORGANISATION
The role of a Legal Support Officer is to complete all tasks within the required targets and updates client accounts using daily correspondence. All tasks will be undertaken ensuring that the company’s image is portrayed in a courteous and professional manner at all times. A strong drive and a positive ‘can do’ attitude will ensure success in this role.

Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative
• General office duties including opening and delivering post
• Copying, scanning, faxing
• Opening office files - hard copy and electronic files
• Closure of legal & office files/scanning and saving to hard drive
• General errands
• Creation of new cases and data input into office case management system
• Open and allocate incoming post
• Link cases on various systems
• Maintain court dates log
• Prepares a variety of legal documents under guidance of the supervisor and firm solicitors
• Organise and archive files and supporting documents
• Verifies information provided as appropriate
• Update Proclaim records according to daily information
• Administration duties as requested by Supervisor.
• Maintain communication with the Creditors and clients.
• Handle incoming calls and ensure all databases are updated.
• Complete litigation paperwork when required/requested by management
Client Care
Various including:
• Filing
• Entering dates in Critical Date Diary
• Tidying files
• Preparing bundles
• Preparing routine documentation
• Supporting fee-earners with specific delegated tasks
• To follow Treating Customers Fairly policy on each transaction, ensuring the best customer outcome is achieved.
• Observe complete confidentiality on every occasion to protect client and employee information in line with DPA training.
• To comply with and be up to date with all aspects of compliance, Data Protection, Anti Money Laundering and financial crime awareness.
