Management yet to feel the crunch, says research

More than a third of managers said global economic troubles are yet to be felt within their organisation, research by analysts Roffey Park has revealed.
The firm's Management Agenda 2009 Report quizzed 858 managers as recently as November last year - 36 per cent said economic difficulties caused "no organisational impact," Personnel Today reports.
"People feel slightly more under pressure at work, and have a little more insecurity about their jobs, but there is no more economic impact on their organisations," said Roffey Park's research director Jo Hennesy.
However, there have been a number of significant job losses announced both locally and internationally.
Companies that have revealed the scale of their forced redundancies include Woolworths, Marks &Spencer, Taylor Wimpey and Barclays.
Local councils have also said they will be making people redundant a survey for the Times revealed Nottingham City Council, Buckinghamshire County Council, Oldham Council and others were ready to lay-off workers.
