Legal jobs 'remain a popular option'
27/10/2008
Young people are continuing to train for legal jobs with the Crown Prosecution Service saying that its graduate trainee schemes are oversubscribed.
A spokeswoman for the group said that this year they had "over 2,000 applications for 37 places".
She added that the service had found that their lawyers were staying with the Crown Prosecution Service for longer than before.
According to a Working Families report published earlier this month the legal sector makes a considerable contribution to the British economy.
The country is also the second largest exporter of legal services in the world with exports of legal services growing to £2.6 billion in 2006.
The Sunday Times 2008 100 Best Companies to Work For, placed law firm Pannone in fifth place and Brabners Chaffe Street at number 27.
As the largest law firm in the country, the Crown Prosecution Service prosecutes criminal cases investigated by the police in England and Wales.
