CC gets best student law employer award

Clifford Chance (CC) has been awarded Employer of Choice for Law in The Times Graduate Recruitment Awards for 2008.

The firm beat Allen & Overy and Linklaters and was nominated after the paper interviewed 15,000 final-year students.

"We have thought hard about how best to provide our graduates trainees with the most effective combination of training and experience," graduate recruitment and development partner, Lynn Johansen told Legal Week.

For the fifth year running, graduates voted the professional services company PricewaterhouseCoopers the most desirable recruiter.

Proctor & Gamble won both the Marketing and Sales awards, Accenture was declared the best recruiter in consulting and IBM beat Microsoft and Google in the IT sector.

Despite recent financial uncertainties the Times reports "the prospects for students leaving university this summer remain very good".
