04/12/2007
International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has announced the appointment of partner Tim Jones as chair of its London Management Group (LMG).
In a drive to continue the recent progression of the firm's City practice, Freshfields has hired Mr Jones to focus primarily on London clients.
Commenting on the move, Ted Burke, chief executive, said: "There is a lot of positive momentum in the London office and we think that the LMG, under Tim's leadership, will help us further develop teamwork, communication and client initiatives. Tim has inspired and energised the London corporate group and is a very popular choice for this important role."
Mr Jones added: "I am looking forward to working with all parts of the London office to build on our success and the advances of recent years, as well as marshalling London's resources to support the firm's continued expansion into emerging markets."
Freshfields is currently advising AWD Holding AG and the founder of the company, Carsten Maschmeyer, on a strategic partnership with the Swiss insurance group Swiss Life.
